Approximately 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast woke up lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the state, producing strong winds reaching over 100 km/h.

Locals observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that different parts across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.
